Day 3

  • Explore Kodaikanal
  • Full Day
  • In Town

The day is at leisure to explore the hill station. Kodai is a special destination which manages to retain its charm of a more relaxed and intimate hill station despite its growing popularity. But if you choose to explore its delights, it has all the trappings of an ideal getaway.

  • Start your day with stroll along Coaker's walk - a beautiful pedestrian path cut along steep slopes.
  • If it isn't a day cloaked in opaque mist, this 5-minute walk affords you panoramic views of the plains 2000 m below.
  • After breakfast, do a local tour of Kodai starting with Bryant Park - landscaped and stocked by the British officer after whom it is named.
  • Later today head to Pillar rocks, three towering boulders offering jaw-dropping views. There is a cave on the far side of the pillars which was earlier named Devil's Kitchen because of the mist which mysteriously appeared to emanate from it.
  • Visit Green Valley viewpoint and the numerous falls in town.
  • Activity likers will find the simple pleasures of adventure infused trails of Kodai to be exciting.
  • While in Kodai, try out cafe Cariappa - a caffeine addict's dream. The wood panelled cafe crats fantastic brews of its locally grown organic coffee. Also try homemade carrot cake, sandwiches and crepes.
  • Relax after a quiet dinner.
